Week of January30th—February 3rd

What we learned about: How To Get Along.

We are all learning to share, take turns, and play with each other.

Unit Theme: Valentines Day/Love/Groundhog Day/ and Dental Health Month

The children will be doing art project by themselves. The children will be learning to counting from 1-20. We are practicing recognizing our letters. We will learn our shapes and colors too.

· Books we read:

Sweethearts

· Valentines Day

· Ground Hog

· Daily we practice our prayers, the pledge, numbers, ABC’s, shapes, colors, sharing, and getting along with the other children.

· Our Art Projects:

· Monday –We practiced our letter N. We did an activity cd with the musical instruments and marching. We practiced coloring in the lines. We practiced counting with different cubes.

· Tuesday –Please refer to Mrs. Janney’s web page if your child comes Tuesday.

· Wednesday – We went to the gym and played with balls and hoops. We will be going to the gym on Wednesday’s so please have your child wear gym shoes on that day. We sang and did dancing and marching to an activity cd. We played the name game and color game. We made a ground hog and talked about “Ground Hog Day”.

· Thursday – Please refer to Mrs. Janney’s web page if your child comes Thursday.

· Friday –We had play and game day. We played toss the bean bag and bowling. We played in the sand table. We made a marble painting of a heart with red, pink, light purple, and dark purple colors. The music teacher came in and taught us new songs. The children did an action cd.

Things to work on at home:

v Practice holding a crayon

v Cutting straight lines or large shapes out. (starting in January).

v count 1-20

v Recite the alphabet

v Work on puzzles

v Keep reading with your child every night

v Practice having your child cough and sneeze in their arm

Reminders:

Please bring juice boxes for snack for your child if milk was not ordered. Sorry for any confusion over the milk program.

Those that bring juice for snack please put your child’s name on the juice.

Please look for your child’s picture in the church bulletin each week. We try to show what we do in our classroom when possible.
